My wishes for you in 2024!
If you are just discovering this website, welcome to a world of music! Welcome also to a community who aspires to a beautiful world, caring for nature and people and also trying to find peace in our super effective stressed modern world but lacking too often of humanity and authenticity.
Our purpose here is to bring back Art in the heart of the social life as a healing power, a reconnection force... Music is our super power because it does not require any words and is meaningful to everyone, every brain, every heart and every fiber of our body!
In this last letter of 2023, I leave you some of the key messages that have been helping me through this year, through the years and will continue to give me strength for the future.
The first message, I discovered it in a book by the icelandic writer Jón Kalman Stefánsson.
"Music has no equal. It is the rain that waters the desert, the radiant sun that illuminates the hearts, and it is the night that consoles. Music brings people together."
from Heaven and Hell".
The second message is from Marcel Proust, who inspired me to create my association "Den Gjenfundne Tid", which means "Time Regained" in norwegian.
"I wondered whether music might not be the unique example of what might have been - if the invention of language, the formation of words, the analysis of ideas had not intervened - the means of communication between souls."
from "The Captive - The Fugitive"
The third message is from Yves Quéré, physicist and godfather of Reconciliation festival. His words triggered me to start this festival.
"Teaching music to children aims to bring them, as much as literature but differently, into a world that is anything but flat, anything but shallow, where the discordance of causes, the discordance of effects, as well as the dispersion of feelings can be resolved in harmony and extreme beauty."
from "A shell close to my ear - Un coquillage au creux de l'oreille".
For the music, I suggest you these pieces to reflect on these words
- Gabriel Fauré, 2nd movement of the 2nd sonata for cello and piano by Cédric Tiberghien and Xavier Phillips or by Steve Isserlis and Pascal Devoyon
- Franz Schubert, Nacht und Träume, cello and piano by Bruno Philippe and Tanguy de Williencourt
- Beethoven 2nd movement of the 7th symphony ...you let me know your favorite version!
May this new year 2024 bring you joy and peace! May music accompany your days and your life! May you discover as well the super power of music!
Love and music!
I am looking forward hearing back from you !
